A 35-year-old woman threw acid on a youth’s face in the Adimali area of the Idukki district of Kerala. It is being said that the victim was her lover and was refusing to marry the woman. The woman threw acid on the young man to avenge.
The accused woman has been identified as Sheeba and surprisingly the woman is the mother of two children. The name of the victim youth is Arun Kumar. Arun is a resident of Poojapura in Thiruvananthapuram. According to the information, Sheeba threw acid on Arun near St. Antony’s Catholic Church in Irumpupalam at around 10 am on Tuesday due to which Arun has lost his eyesight in this attack.
According to the information, Arun and Sheeba met each other through Facebook. Later on, a friendship developed between the two and gradually the friendship turned into love. Sheeba then pressured Arun to marry, but Arun refused to marry her. Arun did not know that Sheeba was the mother of two children and when he came to know about this, he refused to marry. Sheeba had called Arun to meet him and when both were talking suddenly Sheeba threw acid on Arun’s face. During this attack, some acid also fell on Sheeba’s face, due to which her face got burnt.
Arun is being treated at the Medical College Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. This matter has also reached the police. After the complaint was registered, the police recorded Arun’s statement and based on the CCTV footage, Sheeba was taken into custody from her husband’s house.
