The fact about Dowry Harassment cases that, once Supreme Court termed Indian Penal Court (IPC) Section 498A a legal terrorism. Later the apex court issued a guideline where CrPC sec 41A was enforced to stop the misuse of the process of law and to stop immediate arrest of husband and family in dowry harassment cases. In a report of National Crime Records Bureau for year 2016, it says acquittal of accused in “crime against women by husband and his family” is almost 78 percent.
The other important fact with Dowry Harassment cases that, the marriage expenditures and gifts are not a crime under IPC Sec 498A.
Our team is trying to get connected with Mr Bansal to bring out his version. Our Nation has an global identity for having strong family system, but we should not undermine the misuse of the process of the law, which results in broken family.
