Jharkhand former DGP D.K. Pandey who has launched Mahila Shakti app to save women from harassment, has been accused in dowry harassment case by his daughter-in-law. FIR lodged at the Women’s Police Station in Ranchi.
Saturday, Pandey’s daughter-in-law Rekha Mishra filed a case of dowry harassment under IPC section 498a and 406 at Kotwali police station complex in Ranchi against him and his family. According to sources, she was not living with her in-laws for more than a year.
In her complaint, she accused former DGP DK Pandey, mother-in-law Poonam Pandey and husband Shubhakar Pandey of mental harassment for dowry.
Allegation of Pandey’s daughter-in-law Rekha Mishra
- She finds her husband a gay just second day of the marriage, because he used to stay away from her;
- When she informed the Mother-in-law and Mr. Pandey, they asked her to silence on this, and said this is a medical problem which will be cured after the checkup;
- Mr Pandey tried to make physical relationship with her, when she was alone at home;
- She waited three years, expecting change in her husband’s behaviour;
Rekha Mishra is the daughter of BJP leader Ganesh Mishra and married in February 2016 with Shubhakar Pandey. Soon after her marriage she moved to live with him in Jamshedpur.
Officer in-charge said that “We have lodged a named FIR against D.K. Pandey and his family with our police station under section 498A of the IPC. Her primary accusation is mental harassment for dowry… It would not be fair to comment on the case before a thorough investigation is done” Telegraph India published
