In a shocking incident in Bundi district, Rajasthan, a 32-year-old woman was arrested on June 9, 2024 for allegedly murdering her husband to conceal her extramarital relationship.

Incident Details

The deceased, identified as 35-year-old Rajendra Gurjar, was found dead in his home in a village under the jurisdiction of Dablana police station. His body bore severe injuries inflicted by a sharp weapon, according to Circle Inspector Manoj Sikarwal. The body was discovered early Sunday morning, prompting the police to register a murder case against unidentified assailants.

Mislead the Investigation

In an attempt to mislead the investigation, the accused, Mamta, staged the crime scene to resemble a robbery. She removed Rajendra’s gold earrings and scattered household items to strengthen the deception. The body was handed over to the family after a postmortem, and police began their probe into the incident.

Confession Unveiled

During the investigation, suspicions arose about Mamta’s involvement. Upon interrogation, she confessed to committing the murder. It was revealed that Mamta had been involved in an extramarital relationship with a man from a nearby village, which led to frequent disputes between her and her husband. This tumultuous relationship ultimately drove her to kill Rajendra.

Police Action

DSP Ghanshyam Meena confirmed the developments, stating that Mamta had premeditated the crime and acted alone to eliminate her husband. Further investigations are ongoing, and the accused has been taken into custody.
