Neeraj Chopra historic moment, grabs Gold in Tokyo Olympic in Javelin Throw for India

Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra wins historic gold medal at Tokyo Olympic. With this win Chopra has also become the second athlete in the history of Indian Olympic after shooter Abhinav Bindra. With this medal Neeraj has also scripted a history that will remain forever.

Neeraj has achieved this victory after defeating world’s No 1 Javelin ace Johannes Vetter. He secured the gigantic throw to 87.03 meter in the first attempt and further increased the distance to 87.58 meter in the second attempt.

Neeraj had already secured yellow metal in the first throw of 87.03 meter to which none among 12 participant touched the mark. Meanwhile silver and bronze medal was bagged by Czech Republic’s athlete Jakub Vadlejch and Vitezslav Vesely.

In first attempt Julian Weber from Germany was closest to Neeraj with a throw of 85.30 meter. Neeraj sealed his performance right since his qualification round and further he kept on improving and increasing his performance which finally led to his marvellous victory.

Meanwhile one of his opponent from Pakistan was also said to be a strong one but Nadeem hardly managed to cope up with Neeraj’s massive throw and his javelin could not cross the distance of 82.40 meter.

Apart from Field and track event Neeraj Chopra is also serving in India Army as Subedar and has been awarded with VSM (Vishisht Seva Medal).

After securing the winning position, social media handles took Neeraj to appreciation and was glazed with wishes. PM Narendra Modi also took to twitter to wish him and further appreciated his game and set his confidence high through video call.
