Pune: A techie committed suicide due to constant harassment wife, father-in-law and wife’s maternal uncle for money, suicide note revealed.
This incident breaking the societal myth, where it is believed that men belong to the oppressor community and women are oppressed group.
Police have registered a of ‘abetment to suicide’ and booked the techie’s wife, father-in-law and wife’s maternal uncle on a complaint by the techie’s mother.
The 38 year old techie was working with a leading software company at the Hinjewadi IT Park. He was found hanging in a ceiling fan on Sunday afternoon at his flat.
The techie wife had filed complaint of domestic violence, Dowry Harassment case under IPC section 498a against him. He committed suicide to give an end to the harassed he was facing. He also mentioned in his suicide note, which was found on the spot, that his wife and in-laws were harassing him for money.
“The suicide note describes how the techie’s wife, who lodged complaints of domestic violence against him, her father and her maternal uncle allegedly troubled him for money. It stated that harassed by the trio, he took decision to end his life.”, said Assistant inspector Shashikant Dhendge of Hinjewadi police, TOI published.
Wife’s uncle demanded 50 lakh on the pretext to settle the case, out of which 20 lakh is paid by the techie and for the rest of the amount they were continiously harassing him.
“her father and her maternal uncle allegedly demanded Rs50 lakh from the techie to settle these cases. “The techie had paid Rs20 lakh to them. The trio kept harassing him for the remaining amount of Rs30 lakh,” Dhendge said as published by TOI.
