Litigants want their Court Matter to be Dispose in a Year : Report by DAKSH

In the report said that, most of the people in litigation want their cases to be disposed in a year. In the survey, approximate 55% people in civil litigation and 67% people in criminal litigation people want their cases resolved in a year while approximate 35% people in civil litigation and approximate 25% people in criminal litigation express disposal period up to 3 years.

The report published by non-profit organisation Daksh for year 2015 to 2016, was based on the survey conducted by Centre for Development, Planning and Research, Pune, and the further analysis was done in collaboration with Aparna Chandra & Smrutirekha Mohanty, National Law University, Delhi.

On average, more than 91% people who are either in civil or criminal litigation, want their cases to be disposed in maximum 3 years.

The report revealed that 95% people accused in criminal cases were never accused before and 2.3% accused were previously accused.

In the report it is observed that 94.9% accused in criminal matters were male while 5% were women and 0.1% transgender.

The report also discussed the survey on financial loss, and observed Average wage, business loss of 50,387 Crore.
