Meerut, India – A crime that has shocked the nation, a Merchant Navy Officer brutally killed by Wife and Her Lover in Meerut.
In a gruesome and shocking crime, a merchant navy officer, Saurabh Rajput, was allegedly murdered by his wife, Muskan Rastogi, and her lover, Sahil Shukla. The case has spreaded shockwaves across the country as chilling details continue to emerge.
Love, Betrayal, and a Sinister Plan
Saurabh Rajput, a 32-year-old merchant navy officer working in London, had married Muskan Rastogi in 2016 despite strong opposition from his family. He was disowned and separated from his family after the marriage and was living with Muskan and their young daughter in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.
However, Muskan soon became involved in an extramarital affair with Sahil Shukla, a man she met at her daughter’s playschool in year 2019. As their relationship deepened, they hatched a sinister plot to eliminate Saurabh from Muskan’s life.
On February 24, 2024, Saurabh returned from London to Meerut to celebrate his wife’s birthday. That night, Muskan mixed sedatives into his food, after he was unconscious, Sahil entered their home. What followed was a brutal and cold-blooded murder. Muskan was the first to stab Saurabh in the chest. Together, Muskan and Sahil stabbed him multiple times before beheading him and chopping his body into 15 pieces using a meat-cutting knife.
Disposing of the Body: A Chilling Cover-Up
Initially, the couple packed Saurabh’s body in a bag. However, realizing the risk of discovery, they changed their plan the next day. They purchased a large blue drum and cement sacks, stuffed the body parts inside, and filled the drum with cement to conceal the remains completely.
With the crime covered up, Muskan and Sahil fled to Shimla in Himachal Pradesh, where they got married in a temple and spent 12 days enjoying their honeymoon in Himachal and Uttarakhand. During their honeymoon at Shimla, Muskan was regularly posting reels at Insta.
Discovery of the Crime
The gruesome murder came to light on March 18 when Saurabh’s younger brother, Rahul, visited his house in Indranagar, Meerut. He saw Muskan with Sahil and questioned her about Saurabh’s whereabouts. While Miskan unable to provide a convincing answer, Muskan’s nervousness raised suspicion. Meanwhile, Rahul and the neighbors noticed a foul smell emanating from inside the house.
The police were called, and upon investigation, they found the cement-sealed drum. Initially, they struggled to open it, prompting them to send it to the postmortem facility. After breaking the cement seal, authorities discovered Saurabh’s dismembered body inside. Both Muskan and Sahil were arrested and confessed to the crime during police interrogation.
Muskan’s Parents Demand Death Penalty
In a rare and shocking development, Muskan’s parents have disowned her and demanded the death penalty for their daughter. Speaking to media outlets, her mother, Kavita Rastogi, expressed deep regret and stated, “She has lost the right to live. Saurabh blindly loved her and left everything for her, yet she betrayed and killed him. We fully support his family in seeking justice.”
Muskan’s father, Pramod Kumar Rastogi, also condemned his daughter’s actions, stating that she and Sahil were drug addicts and that Saurabh’s presence had become an obstacle to their lifestyle.
Legal Action and Investigation
Meerut SP City Ayush Vikram confirmed that a murder case had been registered against Muskan and Sahil. He stated, “This is a gruesome case of premeditated murder. The accused have been arrested, and the body has been sent for postmortem.”
As the investigation continues, the case has sparked outrage across the nation, with many calling for the harshest possible punishment for Muskan and Sahil. The betrayal, brutality, and calculated nature of the crime have left the nation horrified, highlighting yet another case where blind trust ended in a tragic and gruesome betrayal.
