Parental Alienation (PA) sometimes refer as hostile or aggressive parenting. This year many NGO in India will also take part in Parental Alienation Awareness Day to spread awareness about impact of hostile parenting.
In general PA occurs during separation, post divorce or in child custody battle. This situation occurs when one parent poison the child’s mind for other parent.
Parental Alienation is different than the “Parental Alienation Syndrome” (PAS). PAS is basically the impact on child due to hostile parenting.
Many research says that, PAS has long term impact on the child’s life, which is essentially harmful for children. It left long term trauma. Some of common effect observed such as living alone, school dropout, less participation in society and others.
The Parental Alienation Day held worldwide to create awareness about the impact of alienation, to ensure children “growth in healthy atmosphere” and “development to their fullest”.
Various child rights institutions are participating to give a push of the day in Nation. A Kolkata based NGO namely “ayushman” is organizing panel discussion on 25th Apr 2020.
