NEW DELHI: A 70-year-old doctor and his 62-year-old wife were who were out for evening walk dies after being run over by car. The accused woman released on bail.
The 28-year-old woman Deepakshi Choudhary, who was driving the car, she first hit the elderly couple and then ran over. The incident took place at 6:30 PM, Tuesday.
The deceased couple and the Deepakshi wele resident of Appu Enclave in Dwarka Sector 11. The children of the deceased couple Shanti Swaroop Arora and his wife Anjana are settled in the US.
TOI Published, DCP (Dwarka) Santosh Meena said, “During initial questioning, Choudhary said her mind got diverted as she was thinking about something. She couldn’t spot she was thinking about something. She couldn’t spot the elderly couple and hit them before she could control the vehicle. She didn’t flee the spot and accompanied them to the hospital.”
Police has registered a case against Deepakshi Choudhary for “Rash Driving” and “causing death by negligence” at Dwarka South police station. Police has also confirmed that she was arrested and later released on bail while her car has been seized.
