Rafale Deal : Secret Documents Stolen Said MoD

The petition filed by government seeking dismissal of all applications related the review of Rafale Deal. The Attorney General said, that petioners seeking review has came with stolen documents.

Attorney General KK Venugopal said in court that, India need Rafale to counter F16 at Pak.

The petitioner claimed, that documents has been stolen from Ministry of Defense. Further the attorney mentioned that the stolen documents are lying with The Hindu and ANI. He added that, the conduct of the media companies are violation of the Official Secrets Act.

The attorney also mentioned, that arrival of first lot of Rafale is expected in September and for that 52 pilots has been selected and will send to France.

The court asked for the action taken if the documents were stolen. Court said, crime cannot be sheltered in the name of National Security.

As per The Hindu report, deal of Rafale and weapons was signed in 2016, and then the report also referred the Indian Negotiating Team (INT). The INT report revealed that the parallel negotiations was going.

On the report by The Hindu, government attorney argued that, these documents were marked secret and it was also mentioned in the document. The attorney also said that, The Hindu ommit “Secret” when they published.

N. Ram, Chairman of the The Hindu Publishing Group, tweeted that “they are committed to protect their sources”.
