Although the world champion made a comeback after this and took the match to the tie-breaker, the Indian player won the game by taking six consecutive points. Lakshya saved two of these game points, one wasted but despite this he remained restrained and then emerged the winner.

Though, the second game was a tough one both the players played long rallies. Loh of Singapore caught the pace and seemed to dominate and that is why Loh was seen making mistakes in an attempt to get maximum points. During this effort, Lakshya continued to hit big cross courts and this never gave Loh a chance to get comfortable. One of these smashes went to the left of the iron and one to the right of the iron. With this, Sen created history by defeating iron.
