Bhopal: Woman arrested for sexually assaulting boy and threatening to implicate him in false rape case

June 3, Tuesday: A shocking incident comes from Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh district, where it is alleged that a woman sexually assaulted a 16-year-old minor boy and she was also continuously threatening to implicate him in false rape case.

Rajgarh police arrested the 35-year-old woman under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and the police has also arrested the woman’s husband and father-in-law for extortion and ‘mischief causing damage’.

According to the media report, on May 27, the woman’s family came to know about the incident. It is alleged that the family demanded one lakh rupees from the boy’s family on knowing this and also threatened to implicate the boy in a false rape case. It is also reported that the woman sexually assaulted the boy twice.

Hindustan Times quoted the statement of the Rajgarh superintendent of police, Pradeep Sharma, “The woman sexually assaulted the minor boy, who lives in the same village, twice. On May 27, her husband and in-laws came to know about it. They demanded ₹1 lakh from the boy’s family, threatening to implicate them in a fake case of rape if they failed to pay up. When the boy’s family refused to pay, the woman’s husband and father-in-law damaged their agricultural land by cutting down papaya trees.”

Childline helped the boy

The minor boy went into depression fearing social stigma, after threats by woman and her family. The boy somehow contacted Childline where he spoke about this to the child counselor Manish Dangi who later informed the police.

“The boy was in depression after the incident but due to fear of social stigma, he didn’t share his ordeal with anyone. When the woman’s family started harassing his family, the boy gathered the courage of informing us. He is still being counselled by us.”, Dangi said as quoted by Hindustan Times.
