The tragic event unfolded on December 14 when Bhavik, a resident of Ahmedabad, went to pick up Payal from her parents’ house. However, when he did not arrive on time, Payal’s father contacted Bhavik’s family. Bhavik’s father confirmed that his son had left home earlier that day. Alarmed by the delay, Payal’s family began searching for him.

During their search, they found Bhavik’s two-wheeler abandoned on the roadside, and eyewitnesses reported seeing three men abducting him after hitting his vehicle from behind with their SUV. Concerned, Payal’s family immediately alerted the police.

The Plot Unravels

When police began investigating the case, they grew suspicious after learning that Bhavik had been married to Payal just four days prior. They questioned Payal, who eventually confessed to orchestrating her husband’s murder. According to her confession, Payal had been in love with her cousin Kalpesh before the marriage, but her parents had forced her into marrying Bhavik. Unable to live with the situation, Payal decided to eliminate her husband in order to be with Kalpesh.

Based on the information provided by Payal, the police tracked down and arrested the three men involved in the crime. Kalpesh, during interrogation, revealed that he, along with two accomplices, had kidnapped Bhavik, strangled him in their SUV, and disposed of his body in the nearby Narmada canal.

A Crime of Passion

The police investigation further revealed that Payal had called Bhavik to inquire about his location on his way to her parents’ home. Upon learning his whereabouts, she shared the information with Kalpesh, who was waiting with the two other men. Their plan was set into motion, resulting in Bhavik’s tragic and untimely death.

Arrests and Legal Action

Payal has been taken into custody, while the three men involved in the murder have also been arrested. The police have filed charges against them under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and kidnapping.
