Delhi-based YouTuber Namra Qadir has been arrested by Gurgaon police Monday for allegedly extorting more than Rs 80 lakh from a businessman. Qadir has more than two lakh followers on Instagram and six lakh subscribers on YouTube.

YouTuber Namra Qadir was arrested by Gurgaon Police from Delhi on Monday night, se was produced in district court on Tuesday and then taken on remand.

The YouTuber Namra Qadir case is an example of how even aducated, influencer woman in society running behind the free and easy money. Such cases of harassment and sextortion with men are increasing and since the time of lockdown, such cases have increased significantly.

Businessman Dinesh Yadav alleged that he had approached Namra Qadir and Manish Beniwal for an advertisement and Qadir took Rs 2 lakh as advance, then she again took Rs 50,000 another day but Qadir did not run the advertisement. One day Kadir, Manish invite Dinesh to a club, from where all three goes to a hotel and there Qadir starts blackmailing him by “threatening to implicate him in a rape case”.

“One day, they took me to a club for a party and forced me to drink alcohol. The three of us then booked a room in the hotel and slept. The next morning, she asked me for my card and smartwatch and blackmailed me by threatening to lodge a rape case against me if I refused to do so,” according to indianexpress he added in the FIR.

The complaint was filed in August and on November 24, an FIR was registered against the accused. The FIR has been registered under IPC Section 388, 406, 506, 34, 328, at sector 50 police station at Gurgaon.
