In Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh, a sensational case of husband and wife has come to light, in which the wife along with her lover killed her husband. There has been a new twist in the murder of Rajiv Srivastava on Thursday in Ward 6 of Dudhi Nagar Panchayat of Sonbhadra. The police arrested Rajiv’s wife Mamta Srivastava and her lover Lavkush Srivastava on Friday morning on charges of murder.

Superintendent of Police Amarendra Prasad Singh disclosed the murder by holding a press conference and told that both the wife and her lover had killed Rajiv together. Together they first thrashed him, then strangled him. Police have recovered a plastic pipe, a pistol and two live cartridges used in the murder from the lover Lavkush.

Disclosing the matter, SP Amarendra Prasad Singh said that Rajiv Srivastava was strangled to death on Wednesday night. During interrogation, his wife had told that while he was having dinner with husband and children, three unknown masked men entered inside and started beating the husband and wife. Then the husband was strangled to death and fled from there. On the complaint of his wife, a case was registered against three unknown people.

SP Amarendra Prasad Singh said that along with the inspector in-charge of Dudhi, SOG, SWAT and surveillance team were engaged for the disclosure of the matter. The SP said that on Friday morning, the police got information that the accused involved in the incident was trying to escape somewhere after catching a train from Vidhamganj railway station. On this, the police arrested him from the railway station gate. Police have recovered a pistol 315 bore, two live cartridges from him.
