Tanveer Ahmed, the topper in the UPSC exam cracked the exam in tough conditions. Facing financial constraints and limited resources, he passed the country’s toughest exam.

Tanveer Ahmed, a resident of Niginpora Kund village in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, belongs to a very poor family. The financial condition of his family can be gauged from the fact that his father used to do agricultural work in the summer and in the winter season, he used to go to Punjab and drive a rickshaw to arrange bread for two times. Facing financial constraints, he did his early studies from Government Primary School, Kund and later passed high school examinations from Waltengu. After this he completed his intermediate studies from Rajlu Kund.

In the year 2016, he obtained an Arts degree from Government College, Anantnag. Let us tell you that Tanveer Ahmed was very good in studies from the beginning. He had secured third position in the entrance examination of Kashmir University and obtained his MA degree in economics. He cleared JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) in the last year while pursuing his MA degree. After this he started preparing for M.Phil. During this time he got the idea of the ​​UPSC exam and started preparing for it.

UPSC preparation during lockdown

Tanveer Ahmed says that he belongs to a joint family. That’s why all the family members supported him in his success. He says that when he was planning to prepare for UPSC. Then he was facing money problems. During this, his maternal uncle encouraged him by providing financial help for UPSC studies. Tanveer Ahmed says that his maternal uncle has helped the family a lot not only financially but also emotionally.

During the lockdown, he locked himself between four walls and concentrated and started preparing for UPSC along with MPhil. .

IAS became top rank in UPSC exam

Tanveer Ahmed’s hard work paid off in the year 2021. He not only brought laurels to his family by securing the second rank in the UPSC examination in his very first attempt, but also attracted the attention of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. Tanveer Ahmed is one of the few youths from the Valley who have secured top ranks in the UPSC exam. He has secured the second position of IAS officer. Tanveer’s father is very happy with the success of his son.

On the other hand, Tanveer has given a message to the youth of the valley and said that they should think out of the box and look for different alternative paths regarding their career. He says that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir are very talented, they can do better in every field, they should just keep looking for new paths.
