Murdered mother with the help of stepfather-lover: Bengaluru

A case has come to light from India’s silicon valley Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, where a daughter killed her mother with the help of her stepfather who is also an alleged lover. It’s believed that both mother and daughter were in love with the stepfather with the motive of the distribution of property so that both can live a luxurious life.

The police said that the investigation revealed that there was an affair between the stepfather and the daughter. Both loved each other and wanted to get married. According to information received from the police, 38-year-old Archana Reddy was murdered on the night of 27 December. Some people dragged Archana out of her car and attacked her with sharp weapons.

The police on December 30th uncovered the matter and arrested 7 people including the woman’s second husband Naveen Kumar (33) and the woman’s daughter Yuvika Reddy.

DCP South East Shrinath M Joshi had earlier said that the accused had planned a conspiracy to kill Archana Reddy to get her property and lead a luxurious life. However, the investigation revealed that Naveen and Yuvika had fallen in love and as per police sources both wanted to lead a lavish life after getting married. The woman’s second husband Naveen Kumar is a gym trainer and had promised to make the girl a model. Yuvika is a student of B.Com and was training with Naveen in the gym. Police said that after the gym was closed during the pandemic, Naveen was training her at home. Archana had a daughter and a son from her first marriage. His late father was a realtor and had assets worth Rs 40 crore in the Jigani area of Bengaluru.

When Archana came to know about the affair between her daughter and husband, she opposed it. Archana had also filed a dowry case against Naveen in November. Meanwhile, the woman told her daughter that if she continued with her stepfather, she would evict him from his ancestral property. Archana had also sent goons to Naveen’s house to warn him to stay away from his daughter and send her back. But he had made it clear that he would divorce her and marry Yuvika. Amidst the ongoing dispute with the mother, the daughter and stepfather were unable to lead a luxury life as gym trainer Naveen’s salary was Rs 25,000 and the gym was also closed during the lockdown. After which a financial crisis arose between the two and then a conspiracy was hatched to kill Archana. The police have also extracted the CCTV footage to investigate the incident. Apart from this, the accused have also been interrogated by taking them into custody. After the murder of his wife, Naveen allegedly called Yuvika and informed her about the murder.
