A new movement has amplified around the world regarding gender discrimination. Ever since the news of a rally being held in South Korea expressing displeasure over men who describe themselves as feminists. A group of men dressed in black took out a massive rally in the streets of downtown Seoul, chanting ‘man-haters, this feminism is a mental illness. With this rally, anti-feminism beliefs started gaining momentum on social media as well.

According to reports, the head of one such online anti-feminist group in South Korea, Bay In-kyu, said that “we do not hate women. We love them, but we consider feminism to be a social evil.” Bay In-Q has about 5 lakh followers on the social media platform YouTube and they are growing rapidly. He said that due to increasing extremism in the name of feminism, men have started feeling insecure in the country.

Lee Hyo-lin said “feminist” has become such a shabby word that women who wear their hair short or carry a novel by a feminist writer.

Citing a survey conducted a few months ago in South Korea, he said that 79 percent of men in their 20s reported that they had been the victim of gender discrimination at some point.

On the streets of Seoul, the growing anti-feminist sentiments online in South Korea cannot be ignored. This campaign cannot be stopped from spreading to other countries of the world. If this campaign spreads then an unnecessary tension or conflict will start in the country and society.

On the other hand, a large male section is coming out in support of this alleged anti-feminist group. Male activists associated with the group have tried to target all the places in which the issue of feminism is visible. Women experts, who gave lectures against the spread of misconduct in the prestigious universities of the country, were barred from speaking.
