Noida: Bisrakh Police busted a sextortion raket, gang used to trap victim from matrimonial website Jeevansathi

Bisrakh Police has arrested a woman for extorting money by honey trapping victims.

Thursday, Bisrakh Police has uncovered a gang involved in sextortion. The gang used to trap men on pretext of marriage from matrimonial website Jeevansathi and other social media platform and then used to trap them in false rape case to extort money.

According to the police, the gang first used to make friendship with the victim man. The gang was busted after they trapped a man from matrimonial website. They invited the man to their flat for meeting. After the person reached, they took him hostage and demanded Rs 5 lakh and also threatened to implicate the victim in a false case.

Police immediate action

The police immediately came into action after the case was lodged against the accused Shivani and Amit Kumar.

The police have arrested the accused woman Shivani and her mate under IPC sections 389 for “Putting person in fear of accusation of offence”, 342 for “wrongfully confinement of any person” and 120 B for “criminal conspiracy”.

ADCP Central Noida, IPS Ankur Aggarwal stated that, “the gang used to connect with the man at the matrimonial websites such as Jeevansathi or Shadi dot com, and then the gang used to start the process of meeting for marriage. After meeting with the victim man, the gang used to demand money after registering false case under IPC section 356 against him.”
