An incident of suicide from sector 54, Noida has become the talk of the town. Mohit Thakur who is a victim of the case wrote an Instagram post addressing the Chief Minister, mentioning that constant harassment by his in-laws forced him to take a huge step of suicide. Due to which he hanged himself on a tree just 50 meters away from his house on December 25, 2021
In a police complaint filed at Sector 24 police station on December 26, Satendra Pal the victim’s father informed that his son had married a 20-year-old Muslim woman earlier this year. The complaint states, “Soon after the marriage, the woman’s family filed a case against Mohit for kidnapping their daughter. The police investigated the allegations and closed the case.”
Mohit, who is originally a resident of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. He was working in an IT company in Noida. Police have begun the investigation by registering a case against the woman’s father, mother and two uncles under IPC section 306 (abetment to suicide).
