Husband arrested for attempting to strangle IAS wife Shailja Sharma

IAS Shailja Sharma accused husband to strangle her

MUZAFFARNAGAR: Shailja sharma, a 2013 batch IAS officer who is currently posted in Bihar, originally belongs to Muzaffarnagar, UP, has accussed her husband of breaking into her house and trying to strangle her.

Early this month, based on Shailja complaint an FIR was registered at Muzaffarnagar police. Police has then arrested husband Rajeev Nayan who is Regional Labour Commissioner in Gurugram, Haryana.

In her complaint to the police Shailja said that she returned to her home town Muzaffarnagar on July 31 to meet her father and on Aug 1, husband Rajeev Nayan broke open the door barged into the house with the wrong intentions. She also alleged that Rajeev abused, attacked and strangle her. She also alleged that her husband was in an illicit relationship with another women.

Shailja is currently posted in Bihar as joint secretary in the road construction department. She was given the e-commerce award in Mumbai this February, while she was the district magistrate of Sharsha, Bihar.

Muzaffarnagar police officials said that, the further action will taken as per the findings of the investigation. Police has registered the FIR under IPC Sections 307,452,352,504,506 and IT Act 66e.
