DoT extended work from home for IT and ITeS till Dec 31, 2020

The Department of Telecom (DoT), considering the ongoing concern due to COVID-19, has extended the exemptions from 31st of July to 31st of December 2020.

“In view of the ongoing concerns due to Covid-19, the department has decided to further extend these relaxations upto December 31, 2020…”

“India’s IT industry has been asking the Govt to make permanent the relaxations to allow employees to work from home so that companies are able to optimise their existing real estate & quickly adopt a blended model of remote working & from the office.” Economic Times published.

The industry leaders welcome the move of government.

Tech Mahindra MD and CEO, Sri CP Gurnani thanked the government and said in a tweet that “great step to ensure business operates seamlessly in the current environment”.

NASSCOM president said in her tweet that, ‘this will ensure business continuity and employee safety’.
