Bihar police brutality took life of Ashutosh Pathak

Bhagalpur, Ashutosh Pathak, who was returning with his family after seeing Maa Durga at Durgashtami, was brutally beaten by the police, later died during treatment.

Ashutosh’s family has accused the police of her death, and said that after seeing Maa Durga on Durgashtami, he got into an argument with the police on a police barrier and there police thrashed him in front of his wife and 2-year-old child.

The family has also alleged that, Ashutosh was beaten by gun swivel and sticks and handed over by the police in a moribund state and later he died during the treatment. The deceased uncle Prafull Pathak has lodged  a complaint on October 24.

Ashutosh Pathak (Appu Pathak) was a resident of Godda in Bihar. Saddened by the incident, locak youth of Godda trended #JusticeForAshutosh on twitter.

Opindia confirmed the suspension of the officers involved in the death of Ashutosh Pathak.

According to the ‘Death Review Report’, several traces of injuries and blood observed on the chest, knees of both feet, nose and injuries on the back of the body of the deceased.

IG Sujit Kumar of Bhagalpur range is himself supervising the entire case. A medical team was formed for postmortem on his instruction, and videography of the entire process was also done.
