The bench of Justices Indu Malhotra and R Subhash Reddy, appointed Amicus Curiae for framing guidelines over the payment of maintenance amount in matrimonial dispute.
Supreme Court while deciding the matter of petitioner Rajnesh, decided to bring guidelines to deal with the maintenance amount in matrimonial dispute.
The bench ordered the petitioner husband to pay Rs 5 lakh to his wife. The next date of hearing is 14 October.
The bench appointed Senior advocates Anitha Shenoy and Gopal Sankaranarayanan as the Amicus Curiae to help the court in framing the guidelines for maintenance amount.
“We appoint Mr. Gopal Sankarnarayanan, Senior Advocate and Ms. Anitha Shenoy, Senior Advocate as Amicus Curiae to assist the Court for framing guidelines on payment of maintenance in matrimonial matters”

To come to the conclusion that the husband is leading a luxurious lifestyle, the bench had taken note of the Facebook post showing him flaunting photographs of wildlife taken in various parts of the world, using expensive camera and lens equipments”
