The heart-wrenching incident came to light of a woman’s body being soaked in blood. On Sunday night a body was recovered from her 14th floor flat in an apartment complex in Sector 77 of Noida.
Noida Police informed that a 14-year-old girl allegedly thrashed her mother with a frying pan after she scolded her for not washing dishes. There were injuries on several parts of the body including the head.
The police registered a case under section 304 – culpable homicide not amounting to murder – and took the teenager into custody. She has been sent to a correctional home. The woman has been identified as Anuradha. She was in her mid-30s and was working in the supplies department of a firm in Greater Noida.
Police said that earlier the woman, a resident of Shahdara, had separated from her husband after five years of marriage. After that, she was living with her 14-year-old daughter.
Senior police officer Ranvijay Singh said, “The woman had asked her daughter to wash the dishes. When the teenager did not do so, the woman scolded him, an argument ensued and the girl allegedly hit him on the head with a frying pan.”
The officer said that the girl initially told the police that she had come back from a walk to see her mother lying in a pool of blood.
But when the police questioned the neighbors and checked the footage of the CCTV cameras installed in the apartment complex, they did not find any sign of any outsider entering the flat.
Police said that on further interrogation, the teenager admitted that she had beaten her mother to death.
The woman’s brother Mukesh Rathore lodged a police complaint against his niece, on the basis of which an FIR was registered. The police have also recovered the frying pan used in the crime.
