A suicide news of 31-year-old man has shocked people ever since the news breakout in the western state country, Gujarat. The young man committed suicide after his girlfriend demanded Rs 1 crore from him to apply for an investment visa for Canada.
Jaya Makhija, deceased mother has filed a complaint against the girlfriend in Naroda police station. As per the application filed by the young man’s mother, his girlfriend demanded Rs 1 crore from him. When Lakhan refused to fulfill his girlfriend’s demand she ended the relationship with him. He couldn’t bear the shock and grief-stricken Lakhan took his own life by hanging from the fan in the living room on February 21.
Deceased mother enquired that they have presented the case before the police with evidence of a WhatsApp conversation between her son and his girlfriend. However, Police has not registered FIR for abetment of suicide against her. Even after ten days the police keep telling them that the investigation is on.
How did the two meet?
Lakhan and the girl came into contact during morning walks and they started meeting each other frequently and eventually fell in love. Despite that, she had other plans and wanted to immigrate to Canada and that’s why demanded Rs 1 crore from him to apply for an investment visa.
According to Sandeep, younger brother of Lakhan, when the girl told Lakhan that she knew several men who would readily give her money and refused to marry him Lakhan fell into depression.
DCP Zone-4 Rajesh Gadhia informed the media that the case is being investigated at priority by the police. He informed the media that the phone has been sent for forensic examination to retrieve those WhatsApp messages.
