A 22-year-old girl of the Purba Bardhaman district of West Bengal open fire on her boyfriend after four years of relationship.

According to the police, the incident happened late on December 15, 2021 night in Keshiya village of Katwa police station area, where the girl opened fire on her lover.

The victim told the police in the complaint that his girlfriend called him to meet at a local circus. The girl had recently returned from her home in Jharkhand. The woman had gone there for a job a few months back.

 After this, the girl hugged the young man, kissed him and both smoked cigarettes together. What caught him by surprise was when she suddenly pulled out a gun and opened fire at him.

Fortunately, the bullet missed his abdomen and didn’t cause any harm to the young man. After the incident, the victim started making noise hence the woman escaped. However later she was arrested and the firearm and cartridges were seized from her possession.

According to the initial investigation, “the girl took this step due to the increasing distance between the two over the last few months”.
